FLAG RETREAT- FITNESS EXPERIENCE THAT MAKES ONE BULLETPROOF

There are fitness camps and there is FLAG Retreat- an experience like no other, that truly pushes everyone involved to do their absolute best! During one of the hottest weeks of the year we made our way to a gorgeous location in the Polish mountains to sweat buckets during hardcore training sessions and enjoy the highest quality recovery while our nutrition was taken care of by one of the best chefs in the country.

Crazy as it sounds, the first FLAG Retreat is behind us!

Every day we would wake up early and meet in the courtyard to begin with a 20 minute, Morning Grit session. Whether it was skipping, leg work or full body conditioning our bodies were working at their full capacity from the start. Only the toughest and most disciplined of us made it to every single session- the temptation to stay in bed for a little longer was getting more and more real each day.

After a quick shower there was breakfast time with lots of delicious food for us to choose from. There was always porridge, different fruits, freshly baked bread, all the salads and spreads (sunflower seed cottage 'cheese' was to die for!) and a main warm dish like tofu with spinach, spicy Mexican stew, paneer with veggies or wild mushroom buckwheat 'risotto'.

Around 10:30 there was another fitness-based activity, from yoga sessions specifically designed for boxing, to half a day-long hiking trips, team challenges or 5 Rhythms movement experience. That was always followed by recovery time during which we could have a 90min long sports massage session, use the sauna or relax in a hammock and enjoy the greenery around.

Our dinner was always at 5 and again- there was plenty of truly lush food to enjoy, from starters to soups to main courses and sides. The dishes were often healthier, lighter versions of Thai or Indian cuisine's staples so all the beautiful flavours were there without a compromise on the nutritional balance.

After dinner there was the time for the most intense training of the day which was our boxing session with plenty of pad work, partner drills and technical combos to practise. That was followed by a short and sweet (although 'sweet' is one word for it..) core work part. Mal is the one taking no prisoners and FLAG Retreat was definitely a true reflection of her approach.

There was also time for socialising- every evening we would do some activity together, whether that was a chilled movie night, games that forced us to face our demons and be vulnerable with one another or simply cozy talks by the campfire under the starry sky.

-The experience was outstanding, with super inspiring people and the right balance of everything my body and mind needed- said one of the participants- I can't wait to be back next year!

And FLAG Retreat will be back next year with something even bigger and better so... if you want to hang out with other GOATs… watch this space!

(That is actually a sheep, but… you get the point!)
